When planning the interviews, we also had to think about what they would say and what the answers these people would give, would be. when thinking about this, we also has to think about the voiceover that we were going to use. all these things had to be scripted so that we could portray the narrative as best as possible.
Here is our script for the Voiceover. As can be seen, there were only a few parts where we really needed a voiceover because it was only 1 small part to a documentary. Even though it was a small part of the documentary, ti still needed to be scripted to perfection in order to help the audience think in the right way to subconsciously understand the narrative. I decided to be the voiceover because I thought I know how I want things to be said and portrayed through the use of different voice tones. This is crucial as if people are struggling with the narrative, or are straying away from it after the interviews, the voiceovers put them back on tack. |
Here is the script for ALL THE INTERVIEWS. We used generic questions for everyone because we knew that these questions would generate the answers that we wanted. Due tot he fact there was such a variety of people in our documentary with differening opinions on addiction to gaming, it made it very easy to gather interviews for them. we didn't have to write script, to have to think of questions that would provoke th answers we wanted, which are the ones you can see to the left. We asked the questions and then let the interview talk for as long as thy wanted about that given question, we will then just edit the footage together. |
This is very key part of a documentary, so the scripting all had to perfect. The whole dynamic of the film could have been changed if the interviews were in a different tone, or the answers were different, or even if the voice over was toned slightly differently. The voice over was the thing that we spent one of the longest times on, debating on what we should say, and what we should make my voice actually sound like when recording it. Due to the fact it had such an effect, we felt like we needed to spend that extra time on it to make sure that we portray our documentary in the right way.
