over the last two lessons i have watched a documentary about meth and its biggest effected city. through watching this documentary i have been able to view the techniques that are used in documentaries. Throughout viewing this, i have been taking notes and gaining inspiration so that the documentary that i will create can be up to a suitable standard to gain the highest grade possible. also, when viewing the is documentary i have learned some of the technical terminology that i would need to know when creating my own piece.
From viewing i have noticed things like an active narrator, which in this case would be louis. the role of an active narrator is when they are the person that will be voicing over the parts where there are no dialogue, but then are also in the documentary and are doing something that benefits the purpose of the documentary. other things i picked up on were questions that get right to the point and do not deviate from what the documentary is about. This is good as it will tell the people what they want to know, and it shows the real deal of the subject details.

This diagram shows what it tasks to make a successful documentary. Things like a verity of interviews with people from both sides of the argument make it a good documentary as it gives people the option to view rings from both sides. also the way that a documentary is edited and put together can make a person either want to view your piece more, or to just change channel as it does not interest them at all. |
