Planning:
Planning looks detailed and well considered with an in depth diary blog chronicling the process of conception to construction. This is, in the main, excellent, with decisions explained and a wide range of factors considered. While both storyboards and shooting schedules are discussed, examples of both are needed to demonstrate proficiency.
After looking at the planning feedback, i can clearly see that i have missed out the pictures of the storyboards showing the evidence of what we really wanted to achieve. through our storyboards we managed to create the movie that we finally have. we made sure not to rush into filming until we have the final storyboards ready so we can film quickly and efficiently. after looking at this feedback, i have acted upon it and put the pictures of the storyboards on my bolt so they are clear to see for everyone.
Construction:
The final product, though at times lengthy and in need of a tighter reign of control over edit times, is an excellent piece which successfully conveys its narrative, employs a wide range of camera shots and builds tension through its use of music and flashback sequences. The piece incorporates a good use of a selection of cameras to capture different shots and these are well sequenced to produce a smooth running continuous piece, effective to both task, audience and purpose. Mise en scene is well controlled, with a deliberate use of both house and school, and transitions are well chosen. Overall an excellent effort and certainly one that would offer a continued storyline to progress.
Now that i ahem looked at this feedback and watched through our movie, at times it can be lengthy and some parts do not actually need to be there as they do not really add anything to our movie. when editing i thought that they would portray the storyline better, but obviously, they were not needed. these long scenes could have been cut out just by getting more people to have a look at it. i think that next year, we will have to get more than just our group to check. i think this because as we made the film, we will be slightly biased towards it, so getting an outside view would help us to even do better next time on our pieces of footage. after reading the feedback for the editing, i think that it is really good to know that i can still improve what i ahem done. throughout the course i ahem found various new ways to edit a film and now that i know that i can do better, i can use the skills i have acquired in this unit, and take them onto the next unit to make my film even better than it was this year.
Evaluation:
Excellent, well considered responses to each question, often using a different media format and expanding using further written analysis. All three play an equal part in this process and answers and thoughtful, reflective and media based, including audience and institutions.
I am glad that our different uses of media outlets were noticed during our evaluation of our final product. we thought that it would be the best way to get our evaluation across as just essay after essay would be boring to read. plus demonstrating all of the media technologies we know will show off what we could do for the next unit. seeing as we made a short interview, and next year we will make an interview, i think it is good practice for what we would be doing in next years course. i think the evaluation was also quite fun to do as it gave us different ways to portray what we wanted to say. we could let our creativity flow, so this means that our blogs represent more about us.
