when we received teacher feedback and we thought that we were al ready to go, then i uploaded the footage and put in on my blog, as seen above.
after the finalising of our thriller opening, i got my teacher to have a look at our opening. i wanted to get a clear picture of how
i thought that even though that credits looked good, they could use something else to look great. so what the groups idea was to do was to add little clips of them starring in the movie for the cast. so what i did as editor was to start cutting little clips that looked the most emotional because the emotional music was still running so i thought it would be a good idea to make them fit. once i had put all the clips after the actors names, i looked at the whole credits back and jot worked very well and the whole group sternly approved the idea.
after the title font had been set and i had done all of the title work, it was time to work on the part of the credits that said who the cast was and the camera man etc. my idea was not to use the font we used four the title because even though it was a great font, it was only really good for the title. for one work it was easy to read, but for long bits of writing, it wouldn't has been sufficient. i decided to use a normal font for this, and it works fine. so i created all of the credits with the camera man and the directors. this all looked fine and didn't stray form the dark element of the thriller.
when i felt that all the movie was up to the standard that i think it should be, i started to work on the credits for our intro. what the first part for me was the work on the text. i had to find a text for the main title to make it look professional and we knew what we were doing. i went for a text called GAZ in the end. i picked the text because as well as it pleasing aesthetics, it also had a lot of meaning behind it. the meaning behind it was the fact that it was bold, like the main character, but covered in blood looking substance, like the character would be. it is also quite a dark font, showing the dark essence behind our thriller.
what we tried to do was use the work of frame size to really portray what the characters understanding of his condition was and how he is feeling at that point in time. throughout our thriller. the main character (me) is always in a small frame, whether this be inn a doorframe or in a mirror. at the start, these door frames and mirror are wide, but still confining in a way. This shows that the character i am playing really feels belittled by what he is experiencing, and the small frames also show his little understanding of the situation at hand. At the end of our film, the character is in a tiny mirror all confined, showing he really feels like he has no options and he is really on his own, and it further portrays his little understanding of what is happening.
when filming our media we decided to add little "easter eggs" to make sure that the audience would really grasp what was happening in the thriller. we added things such as people wearing the same shirts. there was josh wearing a smart black and white shirt in the bathroom dead, and then shaking my hand in a walking shot, so this showed that he was one of my victims. things like that we thought would make the movie more enjoyable and more suspenseful because sometimes its good to see these sorts of hidden meanings.
when looking through the movie to see what i could improve before i added credits, i saw that some scenes lasted for a long time, or there were some walking scenes which didn't resale need top be there entirely. after noticing these, i thought that taking some out and shortening them would be a good idea. i thought this because l;eating them in there would just be unneeded footage that would make the movie longer and most probably make it much more boring the the audience to watch. so i took out all the boots that really didn't enhance the story, and shortened bits that the group and me thought were to long.
what i retried to do here was to find a proper intro for a movie company and introduce it to our media work. what i did was research different movie companies that did thrillers and looked at each intro individually with my group. we looked and thought about which one fitted best with our work and in the end we picked intrepid pictures. this works well ads the intro is dark and dingy and really sets the tone for the rest of the movie. i downloaded the intro and added to the movie start. i also found a small clip to add to the sound of the clip just to add the extra sense of suspense to the starting of our thriller intro.
after importing all of the footage from the dream re shoot that we did, i then and to go through and watch each piece of footage carefully just to make sure that it all fitted nicely and it didn't look like the music wouldn't fit with our footage. and now because of the extra footage, i had to extend all of the music and make sure that there were no bits in our music that didn't finish suddenly and make it look unprofessional. when going through the movie, i noticed a part where i could merge two songs together to transition form one to another. a note at the end of one song, and the start of another matched perfectly. i spent a few minutes lining them up and altering the pitch, and they matched very well and its a smooth transition between songs, like i wanted for the intro. after this hour of editing, all music and footage is now synced.
