After doing th research to find out what would make our documentary a bit more creative and effective, we decided to have news reports form different places in the world to use in the first 30 seconds. so after deciding this, we had to find the news stories/reports that would fit in well with the documentary. we found many news reports on the subject, but all were along the same lines, they almost had the same words exactly. This would have showed that it is a very pressing issue, and it would have started to get our narrative across for sure, but i wanted to something to show a more wide range of gaming problems.
we eventually found the footage we were looking for and we think it works really well. This example of an american show was one that we thought we would open with. it shows very worrying stats about the rate at which children game and how many hours people actually spend in their virtual world. With this sort of footage at this point in the documentary it allows us to start to portray the narrative, but it also allows us to grip the audience into watching more of the documentary | |
