obviously there needed to be cutaway shots for the interview with my mum otherwise i would not be able to cover up the jump cuts that would be in my interviews. Due to the fact this was a negative interview about gaming, we thought the cutaway shots should portray the same the interview. therefore, we had shots of maybe tidying up gaming and then we had some of that person tidying away gaming equipment. we then thought that it would also be a good idea to have some archive footage to further portray the point of the interview we conducted. If we have some footage of gamers getting really excited about what they are doing, It fits with the theme of the interview. It is the interviewee saying that people get into the games too much and they spend too much time on games, this means a piece of archive footage on gamers in a world wide competition would fit perfectly here.
This (as a video) would fit very well as even though it shows the opposite vibe to that of what the interviewee is trying to achieve, it helps to portray that people take video games to seriously and invest too much of their precious time in a virtual reality. Archive footage is something that has not been implemented much in this documentary so we thought that this is a good place to start introducing it more to our film. |
